Submission Guidelines for Soulmate Syndrome

Wicked Shadow Press is elated to announce its third venture - an anthology of doomed romance stories: "SOULMATE SYNDROME" (Expected release: November 2022). The final date of submission is October 14, 2022

Sometimes, love can save us, liberate us, complete us. At other times, love turns out to be little more than a disease with a doomed fate.. be it the toxic attraction between two humans, or a love that turns to be a thorn in the side of society and its prevalent norms.

It could be the sad story of a man who traverses continents to meet his online girlfriend, only to find that he has been catfished into a violently dangerous situation.

Or it could be a crime thriller where a cult leader has groomed a young girl into the depths of stockholm syndrome, into thinking that he is the love of her life.

It could be a horror story where a man is lured thousands of miles to the sea by a deadly siren, who maybe used to be his lover in some previous life.

How about a spy thriller where the womanizing protagonist goes up against a classic femme fatale!

Or it could be a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet, where the tragic love of two individuals of the same gender stand in contrast to the animosity among their families!

We are looking for stories where love becomes a syndrome. We encourage writers to go ga-ga when it comes to the interpretation of the term 'doomed romance'

PLEASE NOTE that this is an anthology with a THEME. ONLY those submissions that feature doomed romances, shall be considered for publication.

- Stories of both Heterosexual and queer relationships are accepted.

- Depiction of sex is fine

- Depiction of gore (if any) should preferably be restrained
